Colorimetry for spot colors

As an optional item, ColorPilot and ColorPilot plus can be provided with a colorimetric function which enables colorimetric as well as densitometric values to be measured from the print control strip for colorimetric quality evaluation. A nominal value prediction facility indicates whether the prescribed colorimetric nominal value can be achieved through changes to the thickness of the layer of the individual inks. The arrangement of the measurement sensors ensures that each measurement complies with the standard - densitometric measurement with a polarizing filter, colorimetric measurement without - and all in one measurement run.

ColorPilot plus

Especially when printing perfected book or brochure signatures, it helps to have a continuous print control strip located in the middle of the sheet. ColorPilot plus is a variant of ColorPilot with the technology so arranged on a separate measuring desk that the measuring head can be moved to the y-direction of the sheet. This permits print control strips to be positioned in any location on the sheet parallel to the leading edge. In addition to densitometry, colorimetric quality evaluation is also available as an option.
