FRS
The color register measuring system for web offset
The FRS system should measure the deviations in the register marks after the final printer unit and before the dryer (optional in Set-up as well), which achieves very short response times for the register mark and avoids paper waste of the register mark on reel changes or during changes of speed.
The sensor is based on a 1024 x 768-pixel digital camera and a Firewire transfer to the system unit. The Flash unit is integrated in the camera casing.
Up to 8 colours can be recorded with different register marks. The smallest register marks require no more than 3.75 x 3.75 mm2 unprinted space and position measurements are carried out at the highest speed (17 m/s) with the greatest accuracy.
- The accuracy of relative positional measurement is 0.010 mm (accuracy relative to a standing ink).
- The accuracy of absolute positional measurement is 0.050 mm (accuracy relative to a machine reference).
The measuring module is mounted on a stepped motor-driven traverse and is largely maintenance free, only the optics of the measuring heads are to be regularly cleaned of dirt..
