FM 19 -2D

ColorPilot plus

The FM19-2D is especially advantageous if the print control strip cannot be predominantly placed on the front or rear edge of the sheet. The position of the print control strip can be freely placed on the sheet by selecting various measuring points on a measuring table.

The functional design of the system and the mechanical adjustment to the appropriate sheet format do away with the need for time-consuming position inputs and motorised control. The FM19-2D measuring sensors correspond to the one-dimensional FM19 and also measure density and color location (lab values) simultaneously in one measurement cycle on measuring fields which are only 3 x 4 mm in size. In spite of the additional color metrics module, the same measuring speed and control quality is attained as with the CCI.

The arrangement of the measurement sensors ensures

  • densitometric measurement with polarization filter
  • colorimetric measurement without polarization filter

The FM 19 combines the advantages of density measurement and colorimetry:

  • The density measurement enables the regulation of the printing process
  • The colorimetry enables color allaying quality control

Densitometry has proven to be the ideal measuring technique for regulating color in printing, because there's a direct relationship between ink film thickness and density. Colormetrics is required to obtain the correct target density value for density control of special colors. In order to do this, the color deviation from a required set color is measured on full surfaces.

The combination of densitometry and colorimetry provides an important prerequisite for standardised high quality printing.
